What Home Means to Me

Financial challenges are the leading cause of homelessness. In the fall of 2022, almost 44% of Canadians were very concerned with their ability to afford housing or rent. I consider myself lucky to have a home. One that gives me happiness, safety, and where I feel most loved. Home is a place to feel loved. At your home you have family that love, care, and will protect you no matter what. Families do this by playing with you and supporting you. They love me by taking me to my sports and putting food on the table every day. We make so many loving memories together. This feeling of being loved feels like I am always with my loving parents. Home is also a place to feel safe. At my home my parents will do anything to protect me. It feels like a safe place where the doors will always be open for me. My family does this by making me feel great, my family always stands by my side all day, every day. My family is the best, they make me safe and happy at the same time. My home is a place full of happiness. For example, my sister is 17 and she still plays with me all the time! My sister makes me smile and so do my parents, like when they take me on vacation and we have the best time together. My family puts a lot of money and effort just to make me happy and I'm so grateful for that. This is how great my family is, and how happy they make me! These are all reasons why I feel loved, happy, and safe. I hope you know how this feels because I know I do.
