My Poetic Definition of Home

Home is a place of joy and laughter As happy as could be A zone where you can thrive and prosper Filled with harmony A place that is your very own Offering enjoyment and comfort Full of joy, like being on a throne, And this we can strongly assert A place where we can live together With our families Learning lessons which we’ll always remember And realizing our capabilities A place where we can be free And openly convey our thoughts Expressing our feelings thoroughly While showing what we’ve got A place where we get a sense of belonging While feeling loved and respected And go on with life without worrying About whether or not we’ll be accepted A place where we can be who we want to be Unique and one-of-a-kind Living our full life with glee Without being restricted and confined A place where we can celebrate our culture Following our beliefs and traditions And paint a vivid picture Of all of our celebrations A place where we can be happy And enjoy, play, sleep and eat Being busy, jolly and sometimes snappy We can even achieve an incredible feat A place where we can excel and shine Following our dreams Where endurance and hardwork combine Like ingredients in an ice cream A place where we also persevere As we go through various challenges Since the obstacles that we need to steer All contain different passages A place where we can stay safe and protected From dangers such as the harsh weather And from the heat and cold we can stay unaffected As it provides us with shelter Regardless of their identity A home is a place everyone deserves to have Thanks to organizations like Habitat for Humanity, The number of homes keeps rising on the graph
