There is no place like home

When I am at home I sit around the dinner table and taste my mum's potato soup and with my dad's homemade sourdough bread. I can smell my cat's food at the door. When I am at home I can tell I am in the right space. My house has a different smell to anyone else's home. When I am in bed I can taste the residue of my toothpaste in my mouth and I smell the scent of my pillow coming in my nose. At home my favourite things to touch are my hamster’s warm fur, my bed, my pajamas, and my old cats spiny back. I hear the sound of laughter filling the air over the laughter I hear my family's stories about their day. I love hearing about all my family's days and what they did and saw. When my family is home there are so many things to see. I see the glowing TV screen, the fire burning in the fireplace, my family playing board games, jackets hanging up, reading rhyming books, and my penguin stuffies. Everyone sees my house in a different way than I do. All my friends just see old books, kitchen supplies, tables, and an ordinary couch, but I try to tell them it is more than you think because everything I see has its own personality! Habitat for Humanity is an organization that helps the people who have a house that is in bad condition. For example, you could have mold, breaking roofs, and someplace dangerous like near a highway which is unsafe to raise kids. Every entry gives 10 dollars to Habitat for Humanity that can help build a home for people who really need it. Everyone needs a home not just you, everyone needs a roof, everyone needs a floor, and everyone needs a happy and safe life. This is your chance to help!
