I don't just have a family - I have a loving family!

Home to me is somewhere where I just don’t have to worry. My emotions can change, and I feel safe. Home is somewhere that I can go if I need a hug or my own space to myself, I can let my shoulders rest and don’t need to worry about being hungry or thirsty because I know that I have the things I need to make me feel safe. One of the reasons why I don’t have to worry is because I don’t have to hide sadness or anger. I can let it out and someone in my home will help with what’s going on - even if it’s a furry friend - they are here to make sure you’re happy … and make sure that you wake up with a slime on you face – and you know it’s going to be a good day. Home is not the only place where I feel safe. Outside there are people around me, like my friends and neighbours, that I can rely on too. I feel safe even when I go out because everyone in the neighbourhood makes it feel like home. When I go outside for some fresh air, I sometimes see my neighbors walking their furry friends, or just going for a walk themselves, and I know there’s someone I can talk to! Sometimes I walk my puppy for some fresh air too. Finally when I go outside, I don’t just sit there, I play basketball or soccer with my sisters (or gymnastics with my other sister) and make great memories. I love helping them when they need it too, and I don’t just have a family - I have a loving family. I love them so much for helping me when I’m worried, giving me company, and making great memories: that’s what families are for.
