Home is People & Places in My Neighbourhood

To me home is not just a place. It is the people around me, the “strangers” in my neighborhood, who have turned it into as some would call family. Home is somewhere I can go when I need to relax or even just need a hug. Home is something I can rely on for food, drinks, warmth, personal space and so much more. From my perspective, family is not always just blood, it can be people that you barely knew at one point and now cannot imagine your life without. My favorite hugs are with my mom, my sister, and my best friend who lives right down the street. When I need to just relax, I know I will always have a place to go, my favorite place to just take a break is my bedroom and my kitchen. My bedroom is somewhere I can go to relax or watch my favorite show, and cuddle up in my blankets and, my kitchen is somewhere I can go to cook or bake and make some hot cocoa and cookies. Baking and cooking are one of my favorite things to do, because I feel like when I am in the kitchen I just forget about any problem in the world and just get to think. Home is not just the people in my neighborhood, it is the places too. I have just as many memories at the parks in my neighborhood there as I do at my house. I have been going there for as long as I can remember and over the years I have learned a lot of stuff there - including new games, meeting new people, learning new things, and so much more! My point is that home is not always a place it can be people, my home would not be a home without my two pets, my family, and my best friend right down the street. I could be anywhere in the world and as long as I have those three things it would feel like home.
