A Lost Home

I thought my home was the shining light, But after you left to the sky so bright, I realized it wasn’t my home, The light was you, and now I’m alone. You said you’d stay throughout the years, But now you’re gone, and the only things here are the tears. Remember all the secrets we shared? It was those moments when I truly knew you cared. You urged me to chase my passion, to fly and to soar, Now all I want is to talk to you just once more. You said a true family found no end, But I just lost my dearest friend. I used to think a home was a place, Without you, it turned into a house, an dark empty space. Whenever I was sad, I turned to you, You taught me everything, and because of that, i’ve grew. Even though you’re far away, I feel your presence every day. Mom used to complain that the house was never neat, Now, without you, neither this house or me shall ever feel complete. We used to dance upon these wooden floors, Now, the only sounds are the thuds of closing doors I should’ve cherished the moments we had before, If I did, I wouldn’t feel guilty about yelling at you anymore. You brought warmth to me every day, And when you left, my heart fell away. It’s already been a year since you died that night. Sister, I hope we reunite.
