What Home Means to Me

Home is where I feel comfortable and safe. It's a feeling more than a place. My family and I can have fun. We can be ourselves and forget our worries and be silly with each other. On Fridays we watch a movie and order pizza. Sometimes we stay warm by the fireplace. Sometimes we can be sad too and talk about difficult things and try to solve our problems, even if just to listen. Knowing that we can trust each other and no matter what happens we can always support each other. Home is not just for people. We have two cats named Sam and Gus and they mean the world to me. I don't know what I would do without them. Sam is younger and mischievous and likes to chase Gus around the house. At night Sam has the zoomies and tries to tackle Gus. Gus is much older and patient and chill. They are best friends, even if they wrestle sometimes. They are so lucky to have food, comfortable places to sleep and people who love them so much. Home is where you are loved and accepted just as you are.
