What Home Means to Me

Someone once said that home isn't a place it is a feeling and I agree because when I am home, I feel happy, safe, and loved. It does not feel the same when I am at someone else's house. I always think that if you smile at someone, they will smile back. Just like at home with my sisters who always find a way to make me smile. They do this because they are my sisters and will always have my back and I will have theirs as well. However, I not only feel happy at home, but I also feel safe. My parents have created a safe place for me and my sisters. My parents always say that if you feel safe at home you can take risks, ask questions, make mistakes, share your feelings, and grow. When I am at home, I feel like I am wrapped in the warmest, coziest blanket in the world, but it is not always the same for everyone. I have heard of some cases where the parents were mistreating the child, but I am lucky to have the best parents in the world. They are always there to protect me or just be there when I feel scared. That leads me to my last topic, love. I believe that love makes a house a home. It is not the building that makes the home, it is the people inside it. The people inside my house that make the building a home are my sisters and my parents because we will all do whatever it takes for each other. This all helps support my idea that a house is very different when compared to a home and that there is no place like home sweet home.
