To Me, Home Is...

To me, home is a place that everyone deserves. Whether you are elderly, a little baby or a married couple, everyone needs and should have one. Unfortunately, many people are unable to afford a home that they can keep warm in. As humans, we should look out for each other. That is why Habitat for Humanity exists: helping everyone live a good life, focusing in school, less stress. To me, home is a place where I can hear my parents say, "I love you," and laugh with my cousins at a family gathering. Or, home is when I go to my Nana's house and hear her say, "You're welcome here," as she gives my sister and I a big hug. To me, home is like my church on a Sunday morning. I gaze at the picturesque crystal art piece on the wall. I get to see people getting baptized. Creating memories with the community is something that I'll never forget. The second I step into church, all my worries and fears disappear. To me, the church is like a warm bowl of soup on a cold winter evening. Like home. To me, home is like a sunset, on the beach, swimming, playing and laughing. Home is a place to spend time with family, no matter how annoying you might think your family is. Home is a place of love and new beginnings. Home is a place of warmth. Home is a place we all deserve. To me, home is all of these things in one, but, in several hearts. Thank you Habitat for Humanity for giving everyone a chance.
