Meaning of Home

Have you ever wanted to know what the meaning of home is? Well, I am here to tell you! There are three big things in the meaning of home, and I am going to tell you. Memories are a big thing to make at home for me and it’s so important to make memories with my family, so I am going to tell those three things what home means to me, I hope you enjoy. Firstly, A home means there are special things like my dog, she is so special to me. Pets are amazing, they are a part of my home. Most homeless people do not have a dog or any pets like cats or birds and many more animals and that is upsetting to me. People that don't have a home might have something else that they like more than pets, like a stuffed animal, a lucky rock, a crystal or even a book. Some homeless people cannot afford things that they love, and you can help some people by giving something like food or a stuffed animal it can really make someone’s day. How I help is by selling pumpkins in the fall and part of the money we make we give to charities that help people that don't have a home. We also like giving out socks in the winter to the homeless. Secondly, homelessness should not exist, and it should be stopped! It is crazy how many people experience homelessness in Canada. There is between 150,000 and 300,000 individuals who are homeless, isn't that sad to you? It is so crazy to me, having a roof over your head is not just a basic need it is a human right. We all know that not having a roof and food or clothing is not okay, and it is not good for people's health and survival. Yet in 2018, Calgary had more than 2,900 people experiencing homelessness, isn’t that sad? Imagine you were homeless, and you had no food or no roof over your head. I would be so sad. Thirdly, there are many things that can cause people to become homeless such as trauma in childhood or trouble in relationships, problems with friends or family members, problems with money and problems with drugs or alcohol. However, with every cause there must be an answer, some of the answers could be help, counseling, therapy, treatment centers, help from the government and help with finding a house and help with finding a job. We can also help with connecting somebody to love. You can help bey donate to a charity like going to habitat for humanity. I hope you can donate but it is ok if you can’t donate. To conclude, I told you what I think about homelessness should be stopped. I told you the three big parts of being homeless, like there is always something special and things that can cause homelessness and why I think homelessness should stop.
