The Meaning of Home

A home is a set edifice, Filled with love and tenderness. A home is where relations grow, Where people often grace bestow. A home is full of awe and wonder, Of tight bonds ne’er torn asunder. Homes are full of recollection, And with copious affection. The type of house, it matters not, Nor does it matter where the lot. In different cities homes may sit, It doesn’t matter, not one bit. Home is where I laugh and play, And encouraging things say. As waves of joy splash over me, I spend my hours happily. At home delicious foods await, My mom prepared with love, not hate. At home I have a room and bed, A nice warm place to lay my head. At home there is my family, Working ever cheerfully. Just like gold inside a chest, The family in my home’s the best. My home is such a happy nest, Where after school I go and rest. Relations made in homes do last, As chains of iron, they’re steadfast. I hope all can have homes like me, But many cannot pay the fee. Many people can’t pay the cost, Yet listen now, not all is lost. Habitat for Humanity Is making homes affordably. Kindly and of their own accord, They make homes people can afford. This is a blessing, I will say, Because home is a place to play. It is a place to lie at night, It is a place of pure delight.
