My Two Loving Homes

My two loving homes love me and my sister both the same. I wish it could be different but my parents were not right for each other and I understand why it did not work out. Every night before bed I would hear loud yelling. I would go into my sister’s room and sit with her and my dog Nikko. We would sit and wait for my Mom to come upstairs. My sister and I would give her comfort and my Dad would go drive around for a bit. When he got home we would be in bed. After many nights of fighting, my Mom had enough and took me and my sister to our Nana’s house. About seven months later, my Mom bought a small duplex and my Dad stayed in the house we lived in together. After a year, we found the house we live in now. Now, me and my sister go back and forth from home to home. At my Dads and my Moms homes they show us love that is endless. My Dad’s house is my first home and my Mom’s house is new, but it has also become my home. I believe that home can be anywhere, even the streets as long as it's home to you. Home is a place you feel safe and loved. Sometimes leaving your family home can make you feel lonely but as long as you're in a home that you feel safe and loved that’s all that matters. One day you may also have a family of your own and that you build a home with. Thank you Habitat for Humanity for giving us funds to support our local Habitat for Humanity and local families.
