The Meaning of Home

For me, home is filled with love and laughter and kindness. For me, I can come home from a long day of school, hang my backpack on the hook, and smell the delicious scent of food wafting through the kitchen door. For me, I can eat a big dinner with lots of food and play mario kart with my siblings on a big tv. To me, home means fun and love and laughter and kindness and togetherness. And for me if I came home from school and my home was gone I would cry and cry into my mothers arms. But… for some people… home is filled with sadness and depression. And when they come home they find a crumbled up and bombed out apartment. They go inside to find no furniture, and no Laughter. For some people they go home to find a family sitting around an empty dinner table, with no food. And the parents can’t ask “How was school” because they’re not allowed to go to school or anywhere else. For some people home is a soaking wet tent on the side of the road with no love or laughter or togetherness. And for dinner it's a piece of bread to share with the family. For some people home means sadness and being scared and it's unsafe, but home should be the opposite of that. People should smile as they walk through the front door. There should be a roof to cover their heads, and a front door to walk through. And if their home was gone they should cry and cry and not just move like nothing happened. Thank you homes for humanity, I feel really bad for the people with no warm homes and I would love to see them in one.
