Meaning of Home

To many people, a home is more than bricks, wood and concrete stuck together to make walls, roofs, and floors. A home is a place that you can come running back to after a difficult day. It's a place where hot chocolate can slither down your thirsty throat and make you feel warmth even in a cold, dark storm. Where the aroma of freshly baked pastries greets you each time you enter. When even in the dark alone with nobody beside you clutching your hand, you can feel safe and warm. Even after feeling so hurt and scared, the moment you go through that door, it will all wash away like waves on the beach. Staring at the window, birds settle on their nest tweeting and chirping to each other about anonymous things that we may never know. From the soft leather of the couch, to the warm feeling when you enter, all represent my unique and wonderful home. Each person, animal, or even thing deserves not just a house, but a home.
