What Home Means To Me

Home isn’t a place, it’s not a building. Home is where there is love, happiness, and memories all around. What home means to me is helping my family prepare for family and friends dinners. When I have free time, I ask my dad if he wants to play mini sticks with me. Sometimes he wins, sometimes I win but it’s still fun. Sometimes on the weekend, we have a movie night where we have popcorn and candy while watching a funny, scary, or Christmas movie. Every night when it’s bedtime, I walk upstairs to my bed to wait for my parents to come tuck me in my cozy blankets with my stuffies. This keeps me warm and makes me feel loved. Every morning when I wake up, I smell freshly baked muffins that my mom made on the counter waiting to be eaten. Every day when I get home, I’m greeted by my dog Scarlet and I pet her. When I get home from school, I give my family a big hug full of love. Home is where there is a roof over my head, where it’s warm inside and a family that loves me.
