What Home Means to Me

Home is not four walls, a roof, windows and a door. Home is a feeling of love, happiness and sometimes sadness. It’s a place where I will always feel safe and I can be myself. Home is where I can be myself and I can walk with pride. It’s where I feel safe with those around me. Home is a place where I can always feel happy, but also feel safe enough to cry. At home I can always rely on my family. When I’m sick, I know my dad will come running with tea and dad jokes. Home is where we share happy times and memories, but also remember some sad and hard ones. At home I will never need to worry. At home I will always be protected and loved by family and friends. At home there is always a big weekend breakfast with bacon, sausage and eggs. When I’m eating my pancakes with sticky syrup, I see a jungle of plants. There are plants of all different colours from shades of green and yellow. With blooming flowers that are all bright colours like pink, blue, red and orange. Home is like an adventure book every day there is a new adventure. When I wake up, I can hear the scraping of dog's claws running and playing on the worn out wood floor. It’s where there is no five second rule once something hits the floor a dog will come running and it will be gone. At home I will always feel good wrapped in a warm blanket of joy and love. Home is not a place it’s a feeling. My home will come with me no matter where I go. My home travels in memories, objects and family. Home is a feeling that goes with me everywhere.
