Home is Life

To me home is my life. It brings me peace, love, and joy. My budgies chirping makes me feel peaceful and free, and my budgies nestling against me, and cheeping makes me feel as if nothing could go wrong in the world. Being under my weighted blanket with a fuzzy pillow and some hot cocoa on a cold winters night makes life seem never ending, and the sight of a beautiful rainbow at the end of a nice, refreshing rain makes me feel as if I could fly. During a nice fast-paced bike ride with the wind blowing in my face, with my friends by my side makes me feel unstoppable. Inside my house in the evening, I tend to see pillow stacks piled up in the basement. It makes me feel fuzzy inside. The satisfaction of opening paper mail makes me feel like I am cared for by others. My mom’s amazing muffins makes everything seem okay because of their chocolatey goodness. If you come to my house around dinner, you may find delicious homemade bread seated at the table, ready to be served. During family gatherings my grandma always makes the absolute best fruit Jello! In it there is mandarin, peach, pineapple and sometimes even strawberry! It is delicious! Also, during family gatherings there is a lot of games! Everybody tends to bring a game of two. Most of the time you can hear satisfying cheers and suspenseful dice rolling. At my cabin when I lay in my bed I hear the calming sound of rustling leaves, the satisfying sound of water churning and the long sounds of coyotes howling. And that is what home means to me. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity for building homes for people in need. Thank you!
