Home

Home A home is much more than a house. A house is a structure made of bricks, wood, concrete, and other building materials. A home is a place where memories are made, where you can be loved, and where you can go to unwind at the end of the day. A home is where your family and your belongings are. A little over a year ago I moved to a different town. I still go to the same school, which helped my fears about moving and missing my old home. What I quickly learned was that it doesn’t matter where my house is, as long as I’m with my family and my favourite things I feel at home. To me, my home is a special part of my life. It’s where I live, it’s where I roast marshmallows in my backyard, chase my dog around, play with my sister, and watch TV. My home is part of my family. When I see homeless people living on the streets it seems so unfair. Some people live in big mansions, with pools, and anything they could ever want, while homeless people have so little. When I see people struggling on the streets it makes me feel so grateful for my home and the shelter, safety, and love it provides. Habitat for Humanity is a great organization. I love how it helps people who can’t afford to buy a home. It was a great idea for Habitat for Humanity to create this contest. Thank you for taking the time to read this essay.
