The Feeling of Home

Home isn’t a house with four walls and a door, The true feeling of home is something much more. Home is your family gathered together, Happy no matter the place or the weather. Home is the smell of your Grandma’s cookies, big and sweet. No one can stop and ignore that treat! Home is the sound of laughter and talk, Followed soon after with a hike or a walk. Home is the sight of mischievous faces Placing pranks in certain places. We eat we play, we argue, we cook. We say, “I love you”, we read a book. Home is the feeling of peace and love. There’s no fighting, pushing, harmful shoves Even though we may not get along We always know the words to our song. We sing of joy, we sing of cheer. We’re happy that our family is near. Home is when the bluebirds sing Home is where the morning bells ring Home is the place we hold close to our hearts We make food, we make art It may be chaotic, it may be loud It may be meaningful without a sound Your home is your heart, your heart is your home. The feeling of it is widely known. Wether we are tall or short, big or small, Home is for everyone, one and all No matter how different we may be, Love is a thing we all want to see Home is all of these things and more For home is more than four walls and a door This poem is dedicated to Ron Bolton♥️
