A House and My Home

A house, a place made of stone and bricks, A place made with time and labor. But a home has no feel for pain and effort, But love and kindness everyday with your neighbor. People get loud while building a house, But a home can be quite quiet And not built on the ground, But rather built on family all around. A house can be destroyed or burned, But as for a home, It is found, and it stays, It does not get torn away. A house lays in construction till done, But a home is in the heart and the heart is fun. My home is my safe place, my niche, my cave. And that cave to others I gave, With kindness and compassion a home is built, Rather than with people working hard and climbing on stilts. Filled with love and kindness My home is my place to stay, And though I may move away, My home will be my home.
