The Meaning of Home

My home is very special to me. I think everyone deserves a nice and warm home. Unfortunately, not everyone has that. Some people move homes when they’re growing up. In my case, I have lived in my home since I was born. My home holds so many memories like my first words, my first steps and so much more. When I was three months old, my father passed away. I was so young that I never had the opportunity to get to know him in ways I wanted to. The home I currently live in means so much more to me because everyday I get to walk where he walked, eat where he ate, and dream where he dreamed. Sometimes, I still feel his presence in the home. This is why the meaning of home is more than just a place, it’s a feeling. When I think of home, I think of a cozy warm place filled with love and laughter. My wish is that all children, not just in my community, but in all communities around the world, have a warm and cozy home just like me—because every child deserves it.
