Home Means . . .

Home means a safe place away from the bitter cold wind by a warm crackling fire with my homemade family soup with colourful veggies floating around the bowl. Home means having a comfortable quilt in your warm cozy bed and being with the people that love you.Home isn't just a building with four walls and a door it's walls with family pictures and memories that will never get old. Home means coming back from school and getting a bear hug from your parents. Home means tasting your grandma's special pumpkin pie that you will learn to make when you come of age. Home means looking at family heirlooms with stones and gems that look like the midnight sky shining beautifully through the window. Home means laughter and smiles while playing the best board game you've ever played. Home means arguing over dumb things but being first to apologize if you were in the wrong. I'm grateful for Habitat for Humanity because they give families that are less fortunate houses but when the family moves in and puts their things up on their shelves and walls then Habitat for Humanity has given them a home.
