Home is Harmony
Every family has a different rhythm. When I was eight growing up in Korea, 7:45 pm was the time I felt the world crashing around me. Time hung heavy because it was when kids finished dinner and started their homework not knowing when one would finish. I experienced something like this, and every night would be the same.
Now in Canada my family has finally found harmony. Now, 7:45 pm is the time when my family gathers around after dinner. We like to play board games and watch hockey games. My brother has taken up Canadian sports like hockey, which makes us travel together as a family for his games. I am in Quebec as I write this, because we are here for his hockey game. I have brought my home here with me.
However, no home is perfect. Sometimes things are not harmonious. There could be sadness and anger but I have learnt that sometimes this is what makes a family stronger.
My home and my family fill me with positive energy. Because of this I can sleep soundly and wake up happily. I wish every kid was able to feel the same harmony as I feel at home. This is what home means to me and makes me who I am today.
