Home- where our journey begins
What is “Home” for us? I feel the concept of “home” transcends much beyond the physical structure of bricks and mortar. It is a realm of comfort, familiarity and emotional security embodying personal space and freedom. More than its physical attributes, a home is an embodiment of relationships and memories nurtured within the safety of “the physical walls”. It is a place where love is unconditionally exchanged and where both laughter and tears are shared.
Why do we say a home is more than just a physical attribute?...
For that may be, we dwell on the physical piece in itself to find out how the same was evidently much more than it…If the kitchen , brimming with our mother’s culinary expertise is the “heart” resonating with the aroma of shared meals, the living room filled with shared stories and laughter is the soul. These spaces collectively shape our experiences contributing to our personal growth and emotional well being. The personalization of space allows us to express ourselves freely- one on which we paint the story of our lives, fostering creativity with authenticity. The sense of ownership over our environment instills a sense of security and self- confidence. It's where we learn our first lessons about love, trust and conflict resolution. While the physical aspect may differ across geographies, the emotional essence remains universal.
And before we know, we have transcended from the physical attributes to a far fetching space, a repository of memories-each part echoing with laughter, debates and sometimes tears, a sanctum of solitude where one introspects, meditates and gets rejuvenated.
Thus home is a testament to our journey through life. It’s indeed, the place where our heart truly resides. Hence rightly said -“Home is where the heart is”….
