Meaning of Home

My home is quiet. There are only a few people on my street. I walk outside and the grass is damp. I can't see houses around my home; I only see ponds and trees. I see the deer outside and the trails through the forest. I see the brick on the porch, and the arch of the doorway where the robins have their nest and the pond where the frogs gulp and the breeze where the crows soar. But when I'm home at night, I hear the crickets chirping . I go outside and smell the fresh moss. It gives me a sign that I'm right where I should be. I look up so high, I see the twinkling stars in the sky. But there is something that makes home home and it's not the trees or the ponds. It is the connection that you make with friends and family. Home is the memories and scents. They can be simple like when you go through the forest and you see the raspberry bush where you once fell. But your family was there - always there for you when you fall. The times when you bond and get closer as a family...those are the special moments. That is a true home!
