What Home Means To Me

My house is where I live, my home is where we gather with friends and family to laugh and play games together. When my friends and family come over, we all feel safe and carefree. The kids love to play together, while the parents have great talks with one another. My house is what was built. My home is what built the community. In my community I feel protected when I play at the park, the neighbors in my community make me feel welcome and well cared for. In my community I can make lots of happy and safe memories. My house is what protects me from a storm. My home is where I can hide under my blankets with my brother when I hear the boom of thunder and see the lightning crack the sky in half. While parents just laugh in the doorway. My house can hold things. A home holds us together, where you can build a family. It is where you can be yourself without judgment, where you can do your family traditions without thinking about what your friend might think. This is what home means to me.
