Where I'm From

Where I’m From By: Anastasia I am from mom’s delicious poppy seed Nanaimo bars and dad’s BBQ pizza to perogies and homemade Swedish meatballs with homemade sauce; from being a raw butter eater to a lover of asparagus, brussel sprouts, corn on the cob and chop suey. I am from weird nicknames such as ‘’Butterball” to the iconic ‘’You’re expensive’’ by my mother; from the old ‘’got your nose joke ‘’ to all the non-funny dad jokes. I am from reading classic books like ‘’Good Night Ocean’’ to reading ‘’Rebel Girls: 100 Immigrant Women Who Changed the World; from learning sign language at Little Shining Stars to making breakfast and baking in the kitchen. I AM HOME.
