The Meaning of Home

As the morning sun peaks through my window, I wake up to the smell of coffee drifting upstairs. In my home, my room is my special space. I am surrounded by the things I love: my books, my cubes, my posters. In the morning, my home sounds like early morning piano practice. My home smells like eggs and toast too. My house is quiet and peaceful when I leave, waiting for me to return. My home is a place where my family comes together. We love, we live and we laugh. Four walls divide the best place. My home can be as silent as a mouse. When I come home after a long day, my home comforts me. Memories live in every corner, in every room. My home is a witness to our happiness, grief, sadness and our love. When I hop in my bed at the end of the day, I know that this is where I belong surrounded by the people and things I love.
