“Colours of Home”

Home isn’t just one boring shade, It could be a colour that only you can create. I can paint my home with the colours of my dreams, Nobody can define my home just like me, No one can tell you how yours should be. Everyone draws their home differently, just like how every piece of art is unique. When I’m at home, everything’s a piece of me, The wisdom my dad gives, is like the base of my paint. The silliness my brother makes, adds a splash of fun, The food my mom bakes is like a colourful parade on my tongue. Colours are the way I tell the story of my home, Amber for the embers flashing in the fireplace on Christmas day, Green for the bit of calm that flows through the air of a Saturday morning, A smidge of crimson for the rarest disputes, And a lot of cream for the welcoming sensation, I get every single day. Sometimes a change of scenery is just what we crave, But at the end of the day, I’m at home.
