Meaning of Home!

Have you ever wondered what makes a home, a home and not just a house? For me, safety, my kitchen, and a place to have fun are what makes my home so special. Safety for me means family dinners and talking about our day. When my two big dogs, Ollie and Ginger, greet me at the door after school, they lick my face and I feel their fluffy fur against my arms. I love to make salty, buttery popcorn, for movie night, and sitting down, wrapping myself tight in a fuzzy warm blanket, beside everyone on the coach. Next when I'm in my kitchen I like to bake tasty chocolate chip cookies with my mom, you can smell them from a mile away. The smell of dinner coming to the table brings happiness to my nose because I helped make it. When my dad brings the pizza to the table, we take a bite and see the gooey cheese stretch from the hot pizza. Lastly, having FUN! I love family game night in the living room beside the burning flames in the fireplace. It makes me feel happy and loved. My family and I like to play instruments and dance in my basement. I love to play soccer in my backyard, barefoot on the green grass. It smells so fresh underneath my feet. As you can see, safety, my kitchen and having fun are what make home, feel like home to me. What does home mean to you?
