What is home?

If I asked you, what does home mean to you? What would you say? For me, home is a place where I spend time with friends and family. Home is also where I can relax and have fun. Although that is just my opinion, home can mean incredibly different things to different people. Some people like playing sports like hockey so the hockey rink could be home to them as well. My friend loves climbing so the climbing wall might be home to him. Some people have pets so they could make them feel at home as well. Now, some people don't have home, this doesn’t necessarily mean that they don't have a roof over their head. This could mean that they don't feel welcome in their community or they don't have access to fresh food and water and it can also mean that some people feel stressed when they're at home. Everyone deserves to have a home so what can we do to help them feel like they’re welcome here? You can make people feel at home by giving kindness to them. This can be as simple as asking them to play with them during recess or even just giving them a compliment. If we give these acts of kindness then more people will feel welcome. After reading this paragraph I hope you have learned something new about the meaning of home.
