Homes around the world

Home is not just a place. Home does not mean four walls joined together with furniture in it. Home can have multiple meanings. From a place filled with love and dreams to a place filled with fights and sorry. But, everyone's home is different. From different celebrations and different food. Every home has something in common: love. In India, we have some homemade warm chapatis and curry lentils. We also have Diyas lit up in the background to celebrate Diwali. There is also love and laughter across the dinner table. It's the same story in Pakistan, except there are stars and moons hung on the walls to celebrate Eid. In this house, there is also love, as everybody watches documentaries and eats. In Japan and China, there are dumplings and soup for dinner. There are also decorations hanging on the wall to celebrate The Lunar New Year. There is love spreading across the table as everybody talks about their day. In Korea, it's the same thing. Except, there is kimchi for dinner instead. In America, we have pasta and a Christmas tree. In Africa, we have rice and chicken and are preparing for the Mombasa Carnival. In Mexico, we have tacos and burritos. We are also preparing for Cinco de Mayo. In all of these places we have love and kindness. In conclusion, the Meaning of Home is love. Love, hope, and dreams are the Meaning of Home to everyone. To me, home means a place that is safe, kind, and unique. Every home is different, but at the same time the same. Habitat for Humanity doesn't just create houses; they create homes.
