What Home Is To Me

Home is not just some structure, With only furniture and walls, It’s where we celebrate our cultures, Where we hang memories in the halls, Home is a feeling, a thing, and a dream. Capable of healing, as we stand as a team. When love and happiness go hand in hand, Our acts of kindness, are always grand Home is where we’re accepted, Where we’re cared for with love, Free of what’s expected, Where your hopes can fly high above. Not everyone has a place to call home, Filled with friends spending the night, Some people spend their days alone, With no one to guide them to the light. When I’m with my family, I feel at home and bold. I feel amazing and free, I see their hearts of gold. Even when you disagree, Something will bring you together, That feeling in your heart, Will burn bright forever. When I feel family’s warm embrace, That is nothing I would replace, To feel the love and the grace, That fills my heart when I see that place. My home is safe, And free from harm We fill this space, With warmth and love. Our kindness spreads like wildfire, It can’t be contained, Like the feeling of home, That can’t be explained. The memories I create, With friends and relatives, Every one of them is great, Not a single negative. I say thank you everyday, For the feeling that you know, As it chases the blues away, I know that I am home.
