Meaning of Home

What does home mean to you? A house is an empty place until someone moves in but a home means so much more. Home is a happy and joyful place. A home is a place full of life, love and laughter. I have lived in lots of houses but now I am lucky to live in the apartment I have been in since September, 2022. Now that I have lived there for two years, it really has become a home for me. It is fun with my family and my dog. Sometimes I pretend to not hear the next-door neighbours which is usually them slamming the doors, but it’s fine. The food in my home is really good. My home keeps me warm in the wintertime but in the summer, it gets really hot, especially when we use the stove. We usually use our fans so it’s not that hot. I have lots of toys and books at my home. Sometimes when I want to read my books for ten minutes and find myself reading for a hour. I love my home so much. One reason I love it is because I get to creep on people. One time my neighbours across the street almost flipped their car. It’s also exciting to see new neighbours move in. Right now the apartment below mine is empty but I think new people are moving in. The person who used to live in the apartment was an old man who loved to feed the birds, especially chickadees. They would eat the bird seed. This is what home means to me.
