Home is not a Thing

Home is a place where I smell- The cozy den in which I dwell. A place which in my family is near- And all the paintings around me that I hold dear. Home is a place where I can hear The sound of the kettle boiling in my ear. A place where my food is healthy, And a place where yummy treats go in my belly. Home is a place where I see- My beautiful family waiting for me. When I come home after the school day, A place where me and my brother play. Home is a place where I taste; My mom’s cooking on the dinner plate. Sometimes I have to do chores, But with that, I get to eat yummy smores. Home is a place where I feel- Safe and Comfy and where I have to face the real, Even when times are tough- We still come through even when it’s rough. That was my poem, I hope you enjoyed, Don’t escape yourself into an empty void. Love who you are, remember you’re lucky- For having such an amazing family.
