Home Means Many Things

For me home means many things, it's not just a space, it is a welcoming place where I can be me and know that I am loved. I can be weird, crazy and silly, like when I smell my food before I eat it or when I just start to dance for no reason. I can let out my feelings after a stressful day and feel restful by going to my room, playing and knowing my family will be there for me. Home means my little brother James is always eager to play something exciting and creative. Home means being with my family, whether it is watching a movie or reading a bedtime story, snuggled up together. Home means my books are waiting to be read and take me on an adventure. Home means traditions are shared such as having our nanny and grandad and uncle Jason come over every Christmas eve. Home means me and my brother fill the house with noise, mess, memories and laughter. Home means there is always someone that understands and will listen to me and believe in me. Home means everyone is gathered around the table for a delicious meal cooked with love, like salmon, rice and broccoli with dad's special sauce. Home means being on the ice or the soccer field with my teammates where we fist bump, high five and hug to support each other. Home means my friends can come to hangout, play, chat and have a good time. Home means different things to different people, but to me it always means love and family.
