Home
Sometimes I feel empty and alone,
But when I am home I feel so full. I smile and laugh with glee,
feeling grateful I have my family.
Home is a place where I feel the joyous laughs that are near,
The place where I can’t hear the mean voices in my ear.
Home is my silly brother and my rambunctious dog,
somewhere I can see clearly through all the fog.
It's a huge hug after a long day, it sounds like laughter, lessons,
and the songs my mom will always play.
Home tastes like turkey dinners on holidays with homemade treats,
Hot chocolate when it's cold, and popsicles in the heat.
Home is a place filled with memories captured in picture frames,
It's where the people who love me take away life's stress and pain.
It's blowing out birthday candles year after year, always feeling so safe and secure.
Home is much more than just the place I return to each night,
My home feels like love, safety, and where all my wrongs can be turned into rights.
