Home

When someone says home, I think of a few important things. I think of the memories I’ve made with my family and friends. One time one of my friends came over and we had a Nerf war and he hit me in the eye, but we laughed the pain away. Another memory is when my dad, my brother, and I would play tag and my dad would say he’s too old for this. I would just say, “I know, that’s why it’s fun.” I also think of the laughter and warmth that swarms my family as we play board games. I think of my comfortable bed to sleep on which sadly some people aren’t as fortunate as me to have. I feel the life and colour floating in my home, and I smell my mom’s homemade spaghetti sauce. I can hear my brother screaming at his video games and my dogs barking at any person they see walk by. When I first got my dog, Murphy, he was really small, but now he’s really big and takes up my whole bed so he sleeps on the floor. He became a big part of my family and my best friend. I see the love in the air all around my home. My brother always fights with me because I love to scare him. He gets mad and all I can hear is my mom laughing at him as he starts to chase me around the house. In the end, he always loses the fight because he tried to scare me but can’t. I think the most important part of a home is the love and memories you get to experience and that’s what home means to me.
