You Can Find A Home

A home is not a bunch of bricks, A home is not a lump of sticks, For a home is not anything like a house, I mean, a house will not even please a mouse. A home is with people who care, A place with people who will make it fair. A home is somewhere where you should feel happy, Somewhere you shouldn’t be scared to be sappy. Home is a place to make memories, Somewhere where people give you remedies, It is a place where you have all of your firsts, First step, first word, first laugh, first outburst. It is somewhere where you will feel protected, A place where happiness and laughter are headed. A home is filled with warmth and love, The one place where it doesn’t matter if you don’t have a roof above. Roofs and walls might describe a place, Maybe somewhere where you eat and say your grace, But no, that does not make me think of home, Home is somewhere where all is known. I love my home, it's where I read and play, It’s where I see my family each day, It is the one place I find cozy and warm, The place where I leap into my mother's arm. So, if you don’t have a place to love, If you can not find a dove, If you have no roof above, Don’t worry, you can find a way to love. If you have no home or house, If you live with a bunch of mouse, If people are wondering, who’s better you or the gnome, Don’t worry you can find a home. That home can be together or alone, That home can be made of stone, That home can be outside, unknown, You will find a home.
