No Place Like Home

Home—the most relaxing place—is where we find family, joy, comfort, and fun. Home is where cheerful memories are built. There is no place as comfortable and warm as home, not even a deluxe hotel. Home is where my family and pets live with me. Even though I groan when I have to wake up to my mother’s perky voice, or wake up my dad (who works hard at night), or tolerate the powerful rivalry with my brother—I deeply cherish my family. It’s fun to eat breakfast while watching the kaleidoscopic skies with my mom and I like to play games with my brother. Sometimes I’m annoyed when my grandpa teases me lightly or my grandma asks an exhausted me to help her make dumplings—plop, plop!—after school, but I know it’s because they love me. And my cats make trouble and spill fishy kibble, but in a cute way. They are always there for support when somebody in the family is loud or upset or both. They play with ripped toys, making us throw them, and entertain us on dark nights when thunder booms and rain slams against the windows. In return for cheering up the family, we love our cats. We frantically scour the house when they hide. They show love to us, and we show love to them. Even though stormy days or even weeks sometimes appear in the long memories of home, these are what makes us stronger and helps us grow the already strong bond between life and home. And the best part is, home doesn’t necessarily have to be physical: as long as you are with someone or something special to you, you are at home.
