Home is where gratitude lives

Canada is proudly my home. My home is a warm cozy place that is safe, full of love, happy sounds, the smell of tasty delicious food, and a place for playing, sleeping, and learning. Some children don’t get home as I defined above because either they are in a war zone or a developing country. Home is where gratitude lives. So in this essay, I took time to think and write about all the things that I have Gratitude in and around my home. Gratitude is thankfulness. What does gratitude mean to you? Look around, you can feel it. Use your imagination and align it with reality. G is being gifted. I feel gifted every day. Food is on my plate, as access to clean water, and free public health care, and I go to a gifted charter school. Living in a developed country is a gift to be cherished. R stands for relationships. I am grateful for my family, friends, and teachers that surround me. I am loved, have fun, and learn new things every day. Sadly, some kids live in war zones or orphanages. A is for air. I am grateful that I have clean and fresh air here in Canada. Sadly, only some get to breathe that air. T is for teamwork. Teamwork helps a lot when doing group projects. It improves your mental, and physical health. You learn new things. Teamwork makes my life easier and more fun, at school, at home, and where I play. I stand for Indigenous. I am grateful that I live on the traditional territories of the people of the treaty seven regions in southern Alberta. I live on their land and share their learnings. T stands for technology. I am grateful I have technology in the modern world. Tech makes our lives easier, safer, more entertaining, and easier to communicate with my family and friends. My favorite invention is the television. U stands for uniqueness. My uniqueness is my strength. I am a boy,5 foot 7 inches tall, and with brown skin. I was born in Calgary, Canada. I have east Indian heritage, excel at math, make friends quickly, and love building legos. When I grow up, I want to be a doctor and help anyone in pain. D is diversity. Diversity is not judging people by their skin color, language, and gender. My home country Canada is a very diverse nation.E stands for education. I am grateful that I go to a great school where I learn new things every minute of every day. My teachers are exceedingly kind and care about us having a bright future. Sadly, not everyone gets it. Gratitude never ends and I also give it away at home. I help around the house, take care of my younger siblings, be kind to everyone, sensibly use technology, and care for the environment. When I grow older I want to be an active member of a local charity such as United way or a non-profit organization like ‘Habitat for Humanity’ and give back to the community. Community is where my home thrives.
