What Home Means...

Home means when you walk through the door and you smell the comforting food your family is making. Home is when you feel happy and excited when you get home from a long day at school. Home is when you feel safe with the people around you. Home is where you can snuggle up in your blankets in your own room. Home is where you can drink warm hot chocolate on a cold winter's night. Home is where you wake up to a cat on your feet to keep you toasty. Home can be the best place to be or not the best place to be. Where you live can be unsafe and not even feel like a home. Maybe your school feels safe to you! Even your grandparents’ house can feel like your home. Whatever feels safe to you is your home. Your home is where you can feel safe with friends and family coming over for dinner or even if it's just to hang out. It doesn't matter where you live and what you call home, it matters that you feel safe and happy. Your feelings matter and so does your house. You want to feel safe in your home, you should feel safe in your home if you don’t then try to make your room feel like home! That is what home means.
