HOME

Home is a place where you have friends and family, people you love, people you can rely on, people who help with problems, people who support you, and people who are kind. A home is a place many people don't have because there are lots of people who die in the cold or out of hunger and thirst. If you have a home, you’re lucky. And to think that there are 7,942,645,086 billion people in the world and in that population, 23% of people don't have a home. Homes are very important. Nearly 22,000 children die on a daily basis because they don't have homes. Not having a home is a big problem that needs to be fixed. My home is big but we need a big house because we have 7 people in our house including me. Our family had 4 people before but our cousins started living with us and now we have 7 people. If I were to describe my home I would say it's a nice loving home. Of course it's not the best but it's very comfortable and relaxing. I like my house. EARLY 1900’s In the early 1900’s there were fewer than 2 billion people and only 40% of people had homes. Even worse than now, and there wasn't such advanced technology back then. If you wanted to call there was a phone book and you had to find the people you wanted to call but that's besides the point. There were not many houses and resources, so it was more difficult to get items, rather than now- ordering off Amazon and it coming to your home the next day. If you're reading this and you’re rich or have spare money, I suggest you donate some to the Mustard Seed or other places that can help people in need, so that you can give them a chance to possibly upgrade from living in a homeless shelter to a home - or just a career that gives them some money to help provide for themselves and their family. Trying to get a house if you don't have one is tricky, you have to have a job to bring in money, then you need more money to pay for heat, electricity and food for your home. Sometimes if you are looking to buy a special home, you have to wait for houses to be on the market and many pieces have to fit together which can be frustrating and you can probably guess why. My family and I are looking for a house possibly this year but let's continue about the main topic. In the 1900’s it was very different from now like back then there were no TV’s, then TV’s were invented but only in black and white. People had to work very hard just to stay alive through the different weather conditions. There were also many wars which changed families' lives forever. Now we don't have wars as often as there once was, we have newer houses, advanced technology and so more to make our lives easier and more convenient. Lots of stuff now you couldn't have done then is my point, and it was harder to build houses with wars going on and the lack of people to help with that war going on. Wars can last up to 4 years. The longest war was the Reconquista War that lasted 781 years. That's crazy to think so many people were born in a war and lived there. In the Reconquista War, there were nearly 7 million people that were killed. I'm not saying it's good, but it's crazy that that many people died in that war. And not more in WW2 which lasted 6 years and 35,000,000 - 60,000,000 died. Not to mention that more than 6 million innocent Jews were killed. The style of homes have changed over the years, however the meaning of home is what’s important. I wish every person to have a home that is filled with peace, love, joy, happiness, & kindness.
