A flame that leapt from the coal One after another Turning into ashes while I watch The flames keep me warm Make me feel safe Give me a rush of excitement every time I look Just like my home A mother elephant Guarding her baby Protecting her baby Preparing her baby for the world Always wishing her baby the best Trying to bring her baby to greater heights Just like the people in my home The joyful spring breeze flowing through my hair The beautiful happy glow of the snow in winter all around me when I’m making snow angels The exciting crunch of the leaves under my feet in fall going to play with my friends The gentle thoughtful splash of the water when I do a cannonball into the pool in summer The feelings I have in a home The meaning of home will never be the four walls It’s the people inside The feelings you feel And the overall vision of your home
