Home

Home is a place where my family are together. The rich smell of the tomato soup filled the air. Fresh baked bread sat in the oven where my family gathered around the white kitchen table waiting for the bread and tomato soup to come out. I feel loved. Home. The neighborhood I grew up in, where I went to my beautiful school, the smell of the ice cream truck filled the air, where I played with my playful friends at the familiar playground. The whooshing sound of blue birds flying to the south made me want to fly with them. I feel hopeful. Home. The city that I lived in, the place where all my memories are stored. The familiar scent of the nearby noodle restaurant made me hungry. I hear all around me, the unique languages spoken. I see all around me, the unique ways that people are. When I walk into a store, the employees always greet me with a ‘‘Hello!’’. It made me feel welcomed. Home. The province that makes my day, the sight of the beautiful Alberta lakes, I smell the refreshing smell of the clear blue water. The place where the hungry prairie animals are waiting for a feast. I feel the wind against my face. I breathe in the cold fresh air. I feel venturesome. Home. The country where I feel proud of, where everybody deserves a home, where everyone has freedom, and best of all we all share it!
