Home, A Welcoming Space

Home. This place holds a lovely place in your heart. In a home with the cozy, crackling fireplace warms the living room, the fresh and mesmerizing aroma of the food careens across the kitchen. The clock ticks quietly in the silent corridor, as the food on the stove bubbles and pops. All the fireworks shimmer, as the festivals go on. Home is where the fluffy stuffies cuddle in the bed, the soft blankets provide comfort and a nice sleep. The warm sofa and the sleepy cup of tea is perfect for a snowy day. The freezing snow covers the backyard, melting as the days pass. The shiny green gate, leading to the park, is filled with plants and insects. The tiny cottage in the backyard whistles and opens when the wind picks up, and crashes back when it slows down. The green grass smells of nature and the muddy ground fills the air. What makes a house a home? The sounds, the smell or even the surroundings. All these things affect the meaning of a home versus a house, because homes are where you want to be. A house is just a shelter, but a home is a caring, and welcoming cover. There is still a heater, a cooler, and a fridge, but a home feels different. Maybe it doesn’t look like it, but it is a totally different thing. Many communities and families don’t have a house, so they can't make their perfect dream home come true. All of these communities are special, because they have the power to spark change and create affordable housing. Together, different communities build diverse cultures, religions, languages, and skills. All these people bond, and make houses into a welcoming home for all.
