Home

Home. Home is where I feel welcome, safe, loved, and belonging. Home is also where I can study, and read and know that if I need help I can receive it. Home has the smell of joy and freedom in the air. Or the smell of delicious meals my mother makes. Home can also feel like my father coming back from long days, weeks, or months of work to provide for our family. It can even be my step mother comforting me or my siblings in a stressful, nor comfortable moment we would need help with. Every moment I walk in, either house it is, I know the people I love will be waiting for me by the door. I know I will get a heart filled welcome from the people I love. I know I will be acknowledged and not neglected. I know I will be loved not hated. Home tastes like a warm cooked meal waiting for me and my sibling on the table as my mom is sitting in her seat ready to eat with one another. Home tastes like love, not disrespect. Home looks like a joyful, loving, compassionate, family all having a good time. Everyone loves and cares for one another. My home sounds like my loved ones laughing, chattering, and screaming of love and joy. Laughter is my favorite sound, cause that's how i know everyone is happy. Home doesn’t have to be one place, you can have two. Or even more. Home can just be a place you feel loved, or you're surrounded with the people you love, cherish, and respect. A community. My home is where I am loved.
