What is a Home?

Lots of people know that not everyone has a house. Some families grew up on the streets or could not afford one. But the question is what is a home? Let me compare a house and a home. Lots of people think a home must be a building, well a home does not necessarily have to be a building. It simply must be a place where you feel safe, loved and most importantly, comfortable. A home could be anywhere. It could in a country, a city or even a town. A home is where you feel admired but the most important thing is you need to bond with a house for it to be a home. Now a house is different. Like I said in the beginning of this writing, not everyone has a home. For some people, a house could automatically become a home for them because they never had a place to live in. For a house to form into a home it just needs one thing, and that thing, like I said before, is to bond with the house. But one thing that is so important is to feel, happy and feel like you belong. Also, a house or a home could be a place where you were raised. Not to mention about family traditions, one of my favourite family traditions is celebrating birthdays because first of all, you get lots of gifts, but of course the most important thing is family also you can go to restaurants and eat healthy food that your family makes you, just for you. A home is a place you had your: first bike, birthday, had your friend over, had your first pet, had your first gaming console or computer. It’s these memories that bond you to the house. If you are that one person who walks home after school, you see a bunch of your neighbour's houses and they mean nothing to you right? Well to some people in your neighbourhood the house means something special because most of those people lived there for years and they feel comfortable in their places. A home is an incredibly special place where you also might have bad memories like being grounded, (this one might sound silly, but it can be true) getting robed, being sick etc. At home I see this: a garden in my home varieties of flowers such as roses, violets etc. One of my favourite memories is when I got my first dog 6 YEARS AGO and I was 5 at that time and her name is Fiona. Fiona is the laziest and most playful dog at the same time. Fiona loves to walk outside with me, and my brother walk with her occasionally, but usually on weekends. When my parents first got her, I was running for my life because we were both scared of each other but after a few days we got along. One of the most important questions for all of us is why we are writing for Habitat for Humanity. In my opinion, people deserve a second chance, I know what you are thinking is ” what if they made bad choices and lost their home”? Well people can change, and the only way for them to change is to have a place to live and they will be grateful and try not to repeat history. Inside my home, I feel wonderful. I have been living in my home for 10 years and never have moved. Because my home, is wonderful, beautiful, and is a happy place to grow up.
