Home

What does home mean to me? Home to me is not a roof with four walls. It’s a place full of the people I love! It is the idea that I can love and feel confident right there in my home. My home always has a special smell that reminds me of home when I come back from school. There’s a special smell of home that smells good and gives me the scent of my favorite food. I hear loud noises of joy coming from my living room to my bedroom. These noises are my family talking, laughing, singing, and enjoying one another. I taste the yummy food of grape leaves stuffed with rice that my mom makes. I loved to eat this dish in my home country, Syria! Eating these grape leaves always reminds me of home. Home to me is a place that makes me comfortable and a place full of love, safety, confidence, and many good memories. My main home is in Syria, my old country, where I used to live. My second home is here in Canada. Everyone deserves a home with family, love, and safety!
