What Home Means to Me

To me, the meaning of home is it doesn't matter where you live it’s who you are with that makes it count. If it is rain, shine, or snow you are home. You might live somewhere and call it home but even if you are at school you can call that home because you have the people you are close to by your side. I smell: Have you ever smelled flowers and thought of the people you love? Or smell deodorant and it reminds you of your friends? When I am talking about home, I don't mean smelling the strong odour of my house, I mean smelling everywhere that my loved ones are. As long as I have the people I love with me, I can smell everything I need to and love it. I see: I see my family and friends loving me anywhere I am. If I am in the forest, school, playground, field, rain, ice, snow, or at my house, I am at home. I see my family everywhere I go and it is amazing. I feel: I feel loved by the people that are around me. I feel their warm presence surrounding me as I move swiftly through the wind enjoying my life at home. I taste: Have you ever been in a restaurant or a friend’s house and tasted something that was so good it reminded you of your family? If you were at a friend's house and you are served something that is cultural to your life, it will remind you of your family. In the picture shown below, I showed a mouth eating cheese; that's because my family loves cheese and every time I eat it, it reminds me of them. I hear: Have you ever been in your house sitting by the warm fire with your family and you hear the crackling of the wood burning? You're sitting by the fire and your mother and father's voices speak to you in a soft tone telling you how much they love you, and how much they love being at home. When you hear your family's voice all you think of is home. Home: I love my home, and I hope everyone has a home and is loved by their family. Sincerely, Michaela.
